Serie A’s Inter downsized by injuries

Out of all the clubs in Italy’s Serie A, Inter would arguably be the most unlucky team in terms of the injury bug hitting their players this season. It appears that they could just not get a positive break because of all the injured players that they have in their squad.

As of the moment, Internazionale has 13 of their players sidelined because of soccer injuries, which is one of the main reasons why they have lost 4 out of their last 5 matches. It is even a surprise that they are still in the middle ranks of Serie A’s club standing.

They currently have 7 players out for this current season – namely Diego Mielito (knee injury), Gaby Mudingayi (achilles tendon injury), Ibrahima Mbaye (ligament injury), Javier Zanetti (achilles tendon injury), Joel Chukwuma Obi (muscle injury), Matias Silvestre (thigh injury), and Walter Gargano (thigh injury). The rest of the injured players are already training again with the squad but some have a doubtful chance to get back in the field this season for their remaining matches.

The Serie A club might want to do some second thoughts if they are to risk their players to still play this otherwise finished season. The 2012 – 2013 campaign may be just one of the seasons that they ought to forget and just look forward to the next one. Besides, Juventus has this season in the bag with their second straight title in Italy.

With the transfer window opening in July, Inter is currently on the pursuit for Barcelona’s Alexis Sanchez who just missed 3 matches in the Primera Division due to injury. Inter is rumoured to offer Barcelona € 25 million for the Chilean player. They are also looking to grab Mauro Icardi from their Italian rivals Sampdoria by offering the youngster from Argentina a € 12.5 million contract according to the latest transfer rumours from Italy.
