Mario Gotze ruled out of the Champions League Final

The whole world is looking forward to the much awaited and biggest football game of the year – the Champions League Final. All the hype is brewing up around the epic match up of Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund. But behind all of this excitement, people are also speculating whether the Borussia Dortmund Mario Gotze will play in the final game.

It is confirmed that the 20 year old Gotze will not play in the biggest stage of football due to an injury. Previously he has been back in training last Tuesday, but he did not finish the exercise and wasn’t able to complete full training with his teammates.

The Champions League Final was supposed to be Gotze’s last match with Borussia Dortmund before joining the actual club that his current team is going to face in the final which is Bayern Munich. The € 37 million is all set and at Bayern Munich they are waiting for him to compete in the next season and they should be more than happy to know that their future star will not be risking further damage to play in the last match against them.

The midfielder had missed crucial matches during the second half of the season due to injury as well, and since then he had been struggling to get back to 100% fitness.

“It was my great goal to play in the final, and I fought hard for it in the last couple of weeks. I’m very sorry that I won’t be able to help the team in this crucial match. I have full confidence in our team and will of course make the trip to London to support the lads as best I can.” – Mario Gotze states in the Dortmund website.

Expect Dortmund to rely more on Robert Lewandowski in the upcoming final because of Mario Gotze’s absence. The striker from Poland scored 4 straight goals against the though Real Madrid in their first semi-final match which eventually lead to their 4-3 victory against the Spanish club.

With Gotze ruled of of the Champions League Final, it just became more interesting to see whether who among the two Bundesliga clubs will come out on top to claim the highest honor in football. Will the 2013 Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich get another prestigious title? Or will the 2nd placer be able to pull out some tricks up their sleeves and have sweet revenge by coveting the Champions League Final victory? It will all happen this weekend at the Champions League Final, Bayern Munich vs. Borussia Dortmund.
