Monaco Spending Spree Transfer Rumours

Newly promoted French Ligue 1 club, AS Monaco is one of the newly rich clubs in Europe. A few weeks the club was able to get Radamel Falcao for € 60 million. But they are not stopping there; as Monaco prepares to return to France’s first division next season the club are willing to be more than a generous hosts to whomever player will be joining their team.

One of the latest target of the big spenders is French midfielder Gilbert Wanga Imbula. He is being currently rumoured to Monaco for € 9 million. However, teams like Marseille and Arsenal are also eyeing Imbula.

Another prospect for Monaco is Danish football star Christian Eriksen, who has been targeted by big market clubs such as Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool. But that is not stopping the newly promoted club to get in the mix for one of the most wanted players this summer.

Kevin-Prince Boateng is also on the radar of Monaco, with a transfer fee of € 15 million offered on the table. The midfielder from Ghana had a season ending injury last season, which is supposedly a red flag for other clubs. But nonetheless, Chelsea and Manchester City are both battling it out for the midfielder together with Monaco.

Speculations of Raphael Guerreiro coming to Monaco has also been buzzing around. The French footballer has been rumoured to the club for € 5 million, but other clubs, such as Parma and Marseille, also has the same transfer fee in mind to try and sign Guerreiro.

Stephan El Shaarawy has been targeted by clubs like Arsenal, PSG, and Napoli; but Monaco probably has the highest bid on the player with a € 40 million transfer fee in mind. If this pushes through, El Shaarawy will be a great addition for the club as they expect to compete against the Ligue 1 champions of PSG next season.

If Monaco succeeds in getting all the players they want and/or need, they would definitely be in the running for the Ligue 1 championship title next season. But only time will tell if they could buy their way into getting the players that they are targeting.
