Matchday 2 of the Europa League is fast approaching as we prepare for another set of good matchups of some of Europe’s best football clubs. Matchday 1 had a number of lopsided victories such as Everton winning 4 goals to 1 against Wolfsburg, PAOK dominating Dinamo Minsk 6 goals to 1, and Steaua Bucuresti getting a whopping win of 6 goals to nothing against Danish club Aalborg. However, also during Matchday 1, there were several cards handed to players that has resulted into their suspension which will mean that those certain players won’t be available for Europa League Matchday 2. Here are some players who won’t be available due to suspension on the next Europa League Matchday:
Marcos Gullon of Apollon Limassol (2nd Yellow Card)
Gullon got 2 yellow cards which resulted into an automatic red card on their match against FC Zurich. So far the Spaniard playing for Apollon has scored 1 goal and dished out 1 assist on 3 appearances in the Europa League competition. His club was supposed to play against a Villareal club which was just handed a lost in the Primera Divison by Real Madrid
Nicolai Larsen of AaB (Direct Red Card)
AaB who are trying to recover from an embarassing lost against Steaua Bucuresti will come up shorthanded on their campaign against Rio Ave, as their starting goalkeeper will be suspended on the said match. The Danish club will indeed pay a heavy price due to the red card sustained by Larsen on the 57th minute of their match against Steaua Bucuresti. Both AaB and Rio would want to win this one as both clubs are seeking redemption but only one will gain it, AaB will just have to do it without their goalkeeper Nicolai Larsen.
Ruslan Rotan of Dnipro (2nd Yellow Card)
Ruslan Rotan will be suspended for their next fixture against St. Etienne after receiving 2 yellow cards in their lost against Italian club Inter. FC Internazionale punished Dnipro for Rotan’s red card as the Serie A club scored the winning goal moments after the Ukrainian midfielder was forced off the field. FC Dnipro will have to play once again without Rotan as he will be unavailable due to suspension.
