Since the January Transfer Window, Manager David Moyes hasn’t stopped looking for possible recruits that he could get to strengthen his troubled squad. Moyes has been busy going to games around Europe to see players that he could use next season. After the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson from the club, they have been missing the creativity and the drive that the Red Devils usually bring. Currently standing 6th in the league, Manchester United is still aiming for that final Champions League slot for next season. If ever they qualify, here are some recruits that may enter the Old Trafford in the summer.
William Carvalho, to strengthen the backline of Man U
According to reports of The Sun, Manchester United has opened talks with Sporting Lisbon to acquire the services of defensive midfielder William Carvalho in the summer for a price of £30 million. Carvalho currently is the top priority for the Red Devils this summer. The 6-foot-two defender would be a significant boost for them and would give depth to their midfield options.
Man U joins Arsenal in getting Madrid’s Alvaro Morata
Alvaro Morata has already been wanted by The Gunners and they are looking to get him in the summer. It is said that United is planning to step in and give Arsenal a fight to acquire Morata. The young striker has stated that he wants regular playing time and with the stiff competition in Madrid, Morata has fallen out of the order and is looking for a new home. According to the Daily Star, with the notion of Madrid giving a go for Morata to leave has sparked hopes for United is looking to make a bid.
Manchester might have found Vidic’s replacement
David Moyes has also been casting out to see a new central defender to replace Nemanja Vidic. What they want in the center-half is experience and that is what AS Roma’s Mehdi Benatia has. It has been evident that the back line of United has been their source of weakness. Having Benatia in the mix would give them a solid core to build upon.
The Kroos saga continues
Toni Kroos has hinted of wanting to play in the Premiere League but manager Pep Guardiola wants otherwise and intends on keeping him “for many season.” Kroos has wanted a higher payroll in Bayern and to be in line with the likes of Frank Ribbery, who is reportedly earning £170,000 a week. With this current situation, it has given clubs the reason to have interest in the midfielder. Kroos has stated ahead of the Champions League clash with Arsenal “is no secret that the Premier League is a possibility for me,” he also added “I am a person where a lot is possible for me. No decision has been made about this yet. No one has come to any agreement about this and it will stay like that until the summer.”
