Growing List of Injuries in the Premier League

In the Premiere League, there is no certainty on which club will finish at what place. Compared to other leagues, the Premiere League is the most unpredictable in terms of predicting who will finish at what rank in the standings. With things being this close, injuries are the last thing a manager would like to encounter. Here are some of the latest injuries in the English Premier League.

Kyle Walker (Groin Injury)
Spurs right-back, Kyle Walker, has yet to return to full health due to a groin injury. The injury has already kept him out of their last 4 matches and is ruled out of England’s friendly against Denmark. Walker was assessed with the rest of the team by England’s medical staff and has ruled him out because he is unfit to play. With his absence, defender Glen Johnson is looking to replace Walker and get his 50th cap for England.

Stephane Sessegnon (Groin Injury) and Claudio Yacob (Hamstring/Strain)
Good news for Albion as Stephane Sessegnon is getting ready to perform in their next match against Manchester United. Another player that is eyeing a return in time for the clash is Claudio Yacob following a hamstring injury. A statement coming from the club’s official website states “Stephane Sessegnon and Claudio Yacob are both in contention for Saturday’s home date with Manchester United” furthermore “Sessegnon was left out of the last match against Fulham as a precaution after being sidelined for six weeks with a groin problem. Yacob also missed the 1-1 draw after suffering a hamstring problem against Chelsea, but both players will be involved in full training this week.”

Ezekiel Fryers (Ankle Injury)
Just like Walker, Ezekiel Fryers has been left out of England’s Under-21’s squad for the Euro 2016 qualifiers against Wales because of the injury. The Spurs will start a tough set of games starting with Manchester United, followed by Europa League last 16 tie and fixtures against Arsenal, Southampton, and Liverpool. Fryers’ injury would add up to Tottenham’s growing list of sidelined players.

Martin Olsson (Shoulder Injury)
The 25-year old defender is set to have surgery in the summer to solve an ongoing problem with his shoulder. It is said that the problem was aggravated in their fixture against Aston Villa. Due to the injury, he is forced to withdraw from Sweden’s friendly to have further treatment on the shoulder. Sweden’s manager has stated “He will undergo surgery later. He has a problem which became worse yesterday. Norwich wants him to remain with the club to get treatment and have as much chance as possible to be able to complete the season.”
