As each league approaches the crucial point of the season where errors are not welcomed, injured players are eager to get back and help their teams in every way they can. A whole lot can happen within the remaining legs of the season so each club will need as much help they can get and injuries won’t contribute well to their aspirations. Here are some injured players that are close to returning to the field.
Aaron Ramsey (Thigh Injury – Mid March)
The last fixture that Ramsey was present was their Boxing Day victory against West Ham. Aaron Ramsey was a major part of the team’s early success and now has high hopes of making a return in their match against the Tottenham Hot Spurs on March 16. He was out due to a thigh injury that he picked up in late December and was almost ready to return in January but once again suffered a setback which has ruled him out for two more months.
Nicolai Boilesen (Hamstring/Strain – Early March)
Nicolai Boilsen has been recently out once again due to a hamstring injury, but it appears that he will be looking to make a return soon. The winger recently went under an examination and resulted with some good news. Boilesen has stated in an interview with DR Sport “I do not have much pain anymore. That’s a good thing, but I’m still a while. I have my leg checked by a doctor from Sweden and he is hopeful.”Boilesen has also stated that he has contacted national coach of Denmark, Morten Olsen, to include him in the squad that will feature in a friendly match in early March against England.
Romelu Lukaku (Ankle Injury – Day to Day)
The Belgian forward has been on the on the sidelines since sustaining an ankle injury in their fixture against Liverpool in January. Being the prime catalyst of the Toffees, he is expected to return and give them the boost that they are lacking in the front line. Lukaku is expected to be part of the line-up that will face West Ham on Saturday. Manager Roberto Martinez has told EvertonTV “Romelu has been working really well and been looking fresh and ready. It has been such a demanding season for him” he also added “you need to refresh a little bit and get back even stronger and that is where we will see the benefit.”
Gerard Pique (Calf Injury – Mid March)
The center half sustained an injury in their second league defeat against Real Sociedad. Gerard Pique injured his thigh in their last fixture in La Liga but is expected to be available in their second leg Champions League clash with Manchester City. It will be vital for Barcelona to have Pique in the center back as he is now the center piece of their defense.
