Players on the Move

With teams busy moving and acquiring players, here are some signings and high probable transfers that have created a recent buzz in the football scene.

Sergio Ramos commits to Real Madrid until 2020
Sergio Ramos insisted he never had any intention of leaving Real Madrid after the Manchester United ended speculation over his future by signing a new five-year contract.

The 29-year-old Spanish World Cup-winner has been linked with a move to Old Trafford all summer, possibly in part-exchange for United goalkeeper David de Gea, but has now committed to the Bernabeu club until at least 2020.

De Guzman set to join Napoli
Napoli have signed Holland midfielder Jonathan de Guzman on a permanent transfer from Spanish side Villarreal for an undisclosed fee. The 27-year-old joined the Partenopei last summer, but is not part of new Coach Maurizio Sarri’s plans for the new season, and is set to move to Ligue 1.

Brazilian midfielder Marquinho joins Udinese from Roma
Udinese have signed Brazilian midfielder Marquinho from Roma for an undisclosed fee. Marquinho, who played last season on loan at Saudi Premier League club Al-Ittihad, has put pen to paper on a four-year contract with Udinese. A statement from the Friuli outfit read: “Udinese Calcio announces it has acquired from AS Roma the sporting rights of Marquinho.

Baba signs with Chelsea
Ghanaian left-back Baba Rahman is on the move from FC Augsburg to the English giants for £21.7m. Rahman spent 12 months with Augsburg after signing from SpVgg Greuther Fürth in August 2014, making 31 appearances for the Bavarian club last season as they qualified for the Europa League. The question is, Left, right or centre? Which part of the bench will Baba Rahman most suit at Chelsea?
