Off season rehabilitation in La Liga

Spain’s Primera Division had a great 2012/13 season as they witness FC Barcelona win the championship. This upcoming 2013/14 season, they expect great things once again as they host some of the best clubs in the world and some of the world’s premier players such as Ronaldo, Messi, and so on.

During this off season, every club is preparing for the upcoming regular season and all necessary training are taking place. However, some clubs are really eager for the start of the season as they try to make all their players ready, especially those who are still recovering from their respective injuries. With that, here is a list of some of the latest injury updates in the Primera Division:

Mubarak Wakaso (Espanyol) – Hamstring Injury
Espanyol’s Maburak Wakaso only did low intensity training because of his hamstring injury. Previously he had a knee injury, which caused him to miss around 5 weeks of action. Now, he is mending a sore left hamstring that is keeping him out of full training. As of the moment, there is no specific date of return to action but the injury does not appear to be too severe to keep him out for long.

Fran Rico (Granada) – Knee injury
Granada midfielder Fran Rico has joined the rest of their group in training. However, he did not complete the full session due to his knee injury, which has been bothering him since mid January 2013. He will continue to train but there will definitely be precautions so that his already long term injury won’t keep him out of the field any longer.

Borja Gomez (Granada) – Back injury
Primera Division center back, Borja Gomez, has not yet returned to full training as well. Similar to Fran Rico’s situation, Gomez, only did partial training as he is not yet fully fit to do full work out due to his back injury.

Oscar Gonzalez (Valladolid) – Neck injury
Valladolid veteran, Oscar Gonzalez, will be temporarily out of action as he recovers from a mild neck injury. The said injury will probably leave him out of the field until next week because he will be getting some conservative treatment for his neck complication.

Sergio Canales (Valencia) – Hamstring injury
Midfielder Sergio Canales suffered a hamstring injury with the under 21 and is currently rehabilitating from the current injury. Canales trained separately from his team mates and is continuously being evaluated by the team doctors.
