Seven rounds into the 2013/14 1. Bundesliga season, and things are already heating up to covet the top spot. Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen, and last year’s champion Bayern Munich are in a very close battle as we dive into the eight round. A whole lot of games played and goals scored, but there have been prices to pay for all that excitement as we give you the latest injury updates for Germany’s number 1 football league.
Stefan Aigner (Eintracht Frankfurt) – Foot Injury
It was a very unfortunate site that Eintracht Frankfurt’s winger was ruled out of their match against Apoel Nicosia as he injured his foot during warm ups. He was in the lineup prior to the incident but was sidelined due to the injury, which was definitely not a very pleasant way for him to go down.
Anis Ben-Hatira (Hertha Berlin) – Ankle Injury
Somewhat of a good news for Hertha Berlin, as it appears that Ben-Hatira could possibly play in their next match, as he was able to complete full training with the team. He is currently still in doubt to play, but chances are looking good for Ben-Hatira.
Jefferson Farfan (Schalke 04) – Groin Injury
Farfan could be out until late October as he is currently sidelined with a groin injury that he obtained during their Champions League match against Basel. This could affect their current top seed in the Champions League Group E, as they are already missing out on several players like Klaas Jan Huntelaar and Kyriakos Popadopolous.
Bo Svensson (Mainz 05) – Achilles Tendon Injury
Danish footballer and Mainz 05 player, Bo Svensson, is ruled out for their match against Hoffenheim because he has still not fully recovered from his achilles tendon injury. The 34 year old veteran will most probably be replaced by young defender, Stefan Bell.
Leonardo Bittencourt (Hannover 96) – Ankle Injury
Currently in 4th place, Hannover 96, will have added energy in their upcoming match against Hertha Berlin as Leonardo Bittencourt has been announced to have fully recovered from his ankle injury. Hannover will definitely try to slip in the triple threat battle of Dortmund, Munich, and Leverkusen for the top spot in 1. Bundesliga.
