Injuries and Suspensions Update (Bundesliga Week 30)

Last week’s games were more of the same in the Bundesliga. With Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen and Dortmund showing exactly why they are on the top of the table while Werder Bremen and FC Koln grabbed wins to improve their unsettling records. However, in spite of their win celebrations, the clubs will have to worry about some of their players getting injured or suspended.

Chicharito injury concern for Leverkusen
Bayer 04 Leverkusen face a nervous wait to find out the extent of an injury suffered their main goalscorer Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez in Saturday’s 3-0 win over Frankfurt. The Mexican international was attended to on the pitch by the Bayer medical personnel after appearing to hyperextend his knee 21 minutes from time, before heading out of the game for further treatment.

Alonso missed Shalke Match
Bayern was without Xabi Alonso in their Bundesliga clash with Schalke 04 last Saturday. The Spaniard collected his fifth booking this term in last week’s 1-0 away victory at Stuttgart and served a one-match ban. He will be cleared to play against Hertha this coming Saturday.

Other Absentees
Matija Nastasic, Milos Veljkovic, Leon Goretzka, Marco Hoger, Aron Johannsson, Jerome Boateng, Neven Subotic and Atsuto Uchida were also missing in action as they are still recovering from their respective injuries.
